Colicchio Cooks for Vampires Shills for HBO


What the whaa? After shilling for Diet Coke, Tom Colicchio now appears in a spot for Tru Blood, the fictional “synthetic blood nourishment beverage” that vampires drink in order to curb their thirst for actual blood in HBO’s show True Blood. It’s the latest in a wacky viral ad campaign that has stirred up some controversy. You gotta love any video that starts with the Don, in an eggplant purple shirt, saying “I have a lot of friends that are vampires,” but this raises some questions. Does endorsing fictional mass-market beverages undercut Tom’s foodie credibility? Then again, you have to laugh at the idea of Colicchio trying to convince vampires that “if it grows together, it goes together.”
