If you’re planning to eat at Solex or Lucali, hold off a while. Solex was locked up last night; an outgoing message explains that the restaurant will reopen May 25 with a new look and menu. (Back in March we predicted a move toward Italianization, like sister venture Bar Veloce.) Out in Brooklyn, Lucali’s outgoing message says it’s on vacation until May 17. It’ll reopen on May 18, when Alan Richman will unveil (to an audience of invited food media) a GQ article on the best pizzerias in America. It’s safe to say Lucali’s made the list.
