SLA Takes Out Another Hell’s Kitchen Joint

During its May 13 meeting, the State Liquor Authority canceled the license of Selena, a Mexican restaurant that doubled as a postprandial dance club, Al Ritmo de la Noche. Its not clear why the hammer dropped on Selena, or why the place has apparently closed (its number is disconnected). Sure, there were bailarinas salsa dancing for hire there, but for the most part everything seemed above-board not like the illegal nightclub a Long Beach couple was hosting in the basement of their house. One things for sure between this and the closings of Espaa en Llamas and Acapulco Bar (the latter had its liquor license officially revoked last month), Hells Kitchen is losing a lot of its sabor.
