Haute Dogs, Not From Shake Shack, Coming to Park Slope

Shake Shack Park Slope rumors recently circulated by Metromix are false, but the space in question will serve highbrow fast food, says Gothamist. Café Grey vet Josh Sharkey will open Bark Hot Dogs sometime in June with franny’s alum Brandon Gillis also in the kitchen. The spot aims to be local, seasonal, sustainable, and everything else you might expect from a haute dog on the Slope. Sharkey plans to serve beef-and-pork-blended tube steaks, housemade condiments, and locally sourced soda and beer, none of which sounds cheap. For that, there’s a nitrate-happy pop-up trend in Williamsburg, where a bacon-wrapped dog goes for $2 at Sweet Ups on alternate Sundays.
