Last weekend, when we cruised by what will soon be the scene of Water Taxi Beach’s new South Street Seaport location, all we saw was some empty pier space, a bunch of stacked-up picnic tables, and some chalk outlines, presumably for the mini-golf holes. But now the sand has arrived! We’re told workers will be smoothing it out over the next couple of days, so if you want to see a beach built, head on over to Pier 17 and grab yourself a concession-stand piña colada.
