Remember When Customers Saved Toscanini’s? Gus Rancatore Doesn’t.

Toscanini’s Ice Cream customers sure do ask a lot of stupid questions, reveals owner Gus Rancatore in the most recent edition of his Atlantic Food Channel column. Questions like “Is there chocolate in the chocolate chip?” must be deeply annoying, but the column raises some questions about Rancatore’s long-term memory. It was only a year and a bit ago that Toscanini’s was seized for nonpayment of taxes and reopened only after the ice cream parlor’s loyal customers donated money. Call us crazy, but it seems like perhaps sniping at the people that are responsible for saving your business might not be the wisest possible move, nor the most gracious. What do you think?
