New York’s reigning Food & Wine Best New Chef, Paul Liebrandt, may pursue a lesser-priced follow-up to Corton, according to a conversation with the Feedbag. “The next project we may or may not be working on, which may or may not be a smaller, more accessible, [with] great, simple, well-cooked, beautiful, well-priced food. What I will say is yes, I can not comment on that. I will say that maybe at some point in the future we may or may not be doing that,” teased Liebrandt. Drew Nieporent told the ’bag not to expect a discount menu at Corton, but “maybe a future project.” Wow, if Liebrandt sticks with Nieporent to do “simple” food, the restaurateur can safely be considered a renegade chef whisperer.
