The ’bag reports that one of those bastions of poshness, Lever House, is taking a break. A rep says: “The restaurant will be closing Friday for renovations. Given the current circumstances and market conditions it’s time [to] make definitive changes.” Yikes. John McDonald tells Eater those will take a few months. That said, we’re thinking we won’t see a multi-million-dollar face-lift like the one at John McDonald’s other joint, Brasserie 44. Worst comes to worst, he can turn it into Lure Uptown. By the way, while we’re on the subject, we’re told the Sunburnt Cow will also be closing, though only for three days (April 13 through 15) for some spring cleaning.
