The Times recently asked a bunch of writers what books they read while dining alone, a question that seemed a bit esoteric until Kindle became available on iPhone. Its not like were going to lug a hardcover to a restaurant, and somehow we feel that whipping out an actual Kindle makes it look like were getting just a little too comfortable, but we can totally see ourselves digging into the immense veal chop at Elaines while reading about Jim Harrison doing the same in The Raw and the Cooked (whatever grease damage our touch screen may suffer). Not to mention that the money you save by downloading a book electronically can always go toward dessert! Care to recommend a book to your fellow Grub Street readers?
