Jerusalem Nights Brings More Hookahs and Hummus to Little Egypt

Photo: Daniel Maurer

Joining the Afghan Kebab House on Steinway, Jerusalem Nights opened on Friday with a splashy free-hookah party that brought out the searchlights (do not miss the bizarre video footage). The restaurant’s menu (which also follows) claims that it’s “Steinway Street’s first true Middle Eastern,” which is all the more dubious since the owner operates others in the neighborhood (he is not, however, affiliated with across-the-way neighbor Eastern Nights, which recently expanded). Anyway, this being Little Egypt, there are outdoor chairs for smoking Sex on the Beach hookahs (authentic Middle Eastern indeed!), romantic corner couches, a dining room spotted by camel figurines (our interior shot follows), as well as a back garden for when the weather warms.
