White Slab Palace, opening this week for drinks and March 10 for lunch and dinner, is the second venture for foodie couple Annika Sundvik and John Lavelle. (They first opened Good World Bar and Grill a decade ago.) In their opening report, Rob Patronite and Robin Raisfeld note “floor-to-ceiling freezers for aquavit and small-brand booze, too, and an inventive cocktail program utilizing housemade infusions and garnishes like Swedish anchovies and lavender biscotti.” Look for a raw bar, open-face Scandinavian-style sandwiches, and licorice-gratinéed lobster in the future.
