It’s not just Americans who love them — cupcakes are apparently molto di moda in Italy, to the point where Reuters wrote an entire trendspotting article about it. Oddly enough, while this blogger tends to think of the current cupcake trend as a uniquely American beast, the Italians covet them for their prim, afternoon-tea-ish British connotations. Guess it takes all types.
