Terrance Brennan tells us that he’s looking at spaces in Chelsea, the West Village, and the Upper West Side in hopes of launching a new concept, the Artisanal Table: Pizza, Tapas, and Wine Bar. “It’s a great time for something like that,” he points out, saying he has investors locked up, an offer in on a space, and is looking at other spaces in hopes of eventually opening as many as a dozen 60-to-80-seat locations. “To open an Artisanal takes $5 to $6 million in capital investment, but these are small footprints,” he says. Dishes will be $15 to $20. “It’s a good time to be looking,” he tells us, “because a lot of restaurants are going under. You can find spaces that support a lower check point.” Meanwhile, he’s working out more recession specials at Artisanal, where craft beers will now be half off on Tuesdays. Beer cocktails will also be served for $12 to $14.
