SoBe Wire: Radius Places Third At Burger Bash

MP: South Florida’s Carolina Bolado is filing dispatches from the South Beach Wine & Food Festival over on Grub Street, and she has some disappointing news for Bostonians. Radius, which placed first at last year’s Burger Bash, came in third this year. It was outranked by the entries from Good Stuff Eatery, the DC burger spot run by season four Top Chef contestant and noted hat enthusiast Spike Mendelsohn, and Bobby Flay.

Though Michael Schlow’s burger, pictured above, was not victorious, it was delicious! Reports Carolina: Iit was good - the meat inside was creamier than most. Not sure how to describe it, but it didn’t have the usual ground beef consistency. That burger was also the one that was cooked most rare, I think - it was red inside. Very good. The horseradish sauce was great, but not overpowering (like Spike’s BBQ sauce), and I loved the crispy onions.”

Update: The Radius burger didn’t necessarily come in third, but was definitely in the top three and behind Spike’s entry.
