West Village sushi and back-room karaoke spot Sakura Hana was felled by the Health Department last Thursday, presumably fallout from a December 29 inspection that revealed improper plumbing, poor personal cleanliness, evidence of mice, and the always-disturbing “other live animal present in facility's food and/or non-food areas.” Hopefully the place reopens and doesn’t go the way of its next-door neighbor Sung Chun Mei, which was seized by its landlord last summer.
