Meet a Sonoma Coast Pioneer in Tribeca Tomorrow

One of the pioneers of the Sonoma Coast, David Hirsch, who started planting grapes in the eighties, is in town promoting his latest wines from Hirsch Vineyards. You can catch him at a wine-pairing dinner at New York Vintners tomorrow at 6:30 when he’ll discuss his experiments with the 2007 Hirsch Chardonnay, a blend of four aging techniques: glass, French oak, stainless steel, and stainless steel finished in French oak; plus five other wines. The tasting, and a four-course menu (bouillabaisse, pork shoulder, cheeses, and poached pears) prepared by a former chef to the Wrigley’s gum family, will set you back $95. [New York Vintners]
