OpenTable is Opening Up

Our siblings over at at MenuPages San Francisco are reporting that online reservation behemoth OpenTable has filed to go public. They intend to raise $40 million before moving ahead.

It’s a heartening move, economy-wise, since the New York Times reports that if OT succeeds, thy’ll be the first company since August to successfully go public. If it all goes off without a hitch, it probably won’t help you land a Friday night 8pm deuce at Moto — but it will allow you to peruse their quarterly public statements and know exactly what goes on in the dark underbelly of online reservation-making.
