How much difference does a well-promoted Fat Tuesday special make? Thanks to the fact that its po’-boy special was mentioned in a few Mardi Gras roundups (UrbanDaddy, Metromix, Guest of a Guest, Bottomless Dish), there was a one-hour wait for a table at Ditch Plains last night (and a three-hour wait at Mara’s!). Across the street at Blue Ribbon Bakery, which of course always serves a New Orleans shrimp boil and New Orleans–style barbecue shrimp: no wait at all.
