Eric Hara Said to Be Out at David Burke Townhouse and Fishtail

An anonymous tipster sends in some oddly PR-sounding intel: “Eric Hara has resigned as executive chef at David Burke Townhouse and David Burke Fishtail, effective mid-March. Eric, who helped opened Fishtail this fall and held the executive chef position for three years at Townhouse, formerly davidburke & donatella, makes an amicable departure. He has accepted an executive chef position at another restaurant and that information will remain undisclosed until further notice.” David Burke’s assistant insisted to us that this “isn’t the case,” but Eater says it has heard from management that the chef’s last day is March 10. If true, this is the second chef, after Joël Antunes, to leave in the wake of Platt’s recent twofer review of Oak Room and Fishtail (Platt gave the latter a star but shook his head at “strained attempts at innovation” such as the angry mussels, “a tired parody of Burke’s famous Angry Lobster”).
