Check out the giant banner that City Burger erected after its $13 Black Label burger made an appearance on Nightline. Okay, so it’s not quite as ostentatious as, say, the quotes from Al Franken and others that Gray’s Papaya has put up over the years, but consider also that inside, no less than four framed placards offer a description of La Frieda beef as well as quotes from chefs and bloggers (A Hamburger Today, Mike Colameco, Josh Ozersky, Patrick Connolly of Bobo, etc.). It seems we’ve finally arrived at the point where a simple hamburger garners more review blurbs than a Philip Roth novel.
