Sundance scenesters, take note. Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s people tell us his company, Culinary Concepts, is teaming up with Starwood Hotels to open a restaurant in Park City, Utah — his tenth property, including other ones that are in the works. It’ll be housed in the ultraluxe St. Regis Deer Crest mountain resort, which opens in August. The pull-quote from Vongerichten: “I can’t wait to combine two of my great passions — cooking and skiing. I am excited to meet the challenge of creating a restaurant that will reflect the beauty of Deer Valley and of the St. Regis.” The menu, too, will reflect the area, and the restaurant will be accessible to diners arriving via skis or funicular. Meanwhile, there’s news on the home front, too.

Vongo still isn’t giving up news about his doings at Ago, but he says on his blog that his new project with Jim Lahey, Co., will eventually extend its hours to accommodate the crowds. He admits he’s been taking up valuable table space there every other night — “I think I’ve gained about 4 pounds these last few weeks” — which might be part of the crowd-flow issues that have been frustrating bloggers.
