Nancy Carlisle, author of America’s Kitchens, will visit the Brooklyn Kitchen on Saturday at 1 p.m. to talk about, well, kitchens. The book spans New England hearths and Spanish colonial kitchens in the Southwest, with lots of photos and illustrations. In addition to various kitchen layouts and uses, the book covers the evolution of food technology and how that changed the life of the average American wife cook. Proprietor Harry Rosenblum will display some items from the “Brooklyn Kitchen Tool Musuem,” but bring your own mystery implement if you’re looking for an expert I.D.
