Huzzah!

Trekking out to Arlington doesn’t seem like a likely activity for many, but we were made believers when we were introduced to Za. Simple and unassuming corner spot along Mass Ave., we wondered what the big deal was when our earth-crunchy friends wouldn’t stop yapping about their new favorite pizzas. We went along, always game for a new find. And could we have been more pleased? We’re known for being sweet on mac & cheese, but at Za, you can get mac & cheese pizza. Only in America, folks.

Za is owned and operated by the same folks behind popular spot EVOO. At Za, the menu is simple but delicious: pan pizzas for vegetarians and omnivores, salads of beet and avocado. Local farms from Concord to Somerville supply salad veggies, herbs, and seasonal berries. The weekly chalkboard specials are almost as varied and numerous as the regular menu items, with specialty desserts like sweet potato pie and a fabulous wine selection. Just as thoughtful as a regular wine pairing, the restaurateurs switch up their alcohol options to match their rotating menu. We couldn’t have planned it better ourselves. To Za we say, “Huzzah!”
