Beacon Street’s Gastropub

We will pretty much try anything once. This goes for bars as well. Dive, hipster sofa-filled basement, Irish townie, or blue collar Communist, we have no trouble throwing one back in any situation. What we really love, though, is a bar that can feed us well. When we’re around Fenway, it usually means the game is about to start or we’re heading for Audubon Circle for their comfortable mix of neighborhood vibe and upscale style.

An unassuming pub at first glance, AC has some of the best gastropub fare in town. From their somewhat notorious bean dip to their sandwiches and brews, we take our friends here with pride. They have a sort of normal range of bar food too: pot stickers, fries, and burgers are for the less adventurous in your crowd. Last visit, we sampled their goat’s milk cheesecake and thought dessert as we has known it was turning a corner. But as their menu changes frequently, you never know what you’re gonna find. Helpful staff is on hand to explain the music mixes being played, which often makes us end up chair-dancing a bit.

For now, we’re just waiting anxiously for the patio to reopen (and of course, for the tolerable temperatures to return). When it does, we’ll be there.
