Eat Beautiful Chocolate in a Beautiful Setting

Ritz-Carlton Battery Park pastry chef Laurent Richard will attempt to top himself at the annual Chocolate Buffet next February. Though he was once named one of the “Ten Best Pastry Chefs in America” by Pastry Art & Design, will Richard be better than the best? This year’s carnival theme lends itself to lots of 3-D possibilities (look for a carousel and a roller coaster), but don’t expect another Statue of Liberty or the chef’s self-portrait. Two seatings (7:30 and 9:30 p.m.) are available at the Rise bar on Saturdays and Sundays from February 6 through February 28. The $75 tab includes tax, tip, bottomless bubbly, and a chance to act like Augustus Gloop. Reservations required; call 917-790-2600.
