Thanksgiving: We’re Already Over It

As we posted our umpteenth item about Turkey Day, we were happy to come across Regina Schrambling’s dirty little essay on Slate: Food writers hate Thanksgiving. “What makes me totally crazy is the persistent pressure to reinvent a wheel that has been going around quite nicely for more than 200 years,” she writes. This sentiment is shared throughout the media and applies to all major holidays, anniversaries, and anything else that happens once a year and must be acknowledged. And yes, we’re bellyaching. So what are we grateful for? Not having to write about turkey for another whole year. Eat up and enjoy the holiday, everyone! We’ll be back on Monday.
