FCI Slashes Tuition

Most French Culinary Institute alums can look forward to years of grueling, underpaid jobs before they become a Wylie Dufresne or a David Chang (both alums). In an attempt to temper the burden (and reach out to out-of-work bankers?), FCI has sliced the cost of night school by $5,000, reducing the tab for its nine-month winter session to $29,850, now only a few thousand less than a line cook should hope to make in a year.
