People have been buzzing about what MTV creator Bob Pittman would do now that he has sold DailyCandy to Comcast for $130 million. Turns out he is behind new electronic food and wine newsletter Tasting Table, which launched this week. Pittman and his pilot company are partners with Lever House and Lure Fishbar co-owner John McDonald in the new venture, which will host chef- and mixologist-driven events, as well as send out a daily alert with eating and drinking news. "Since DailyCandy, Bob has been approached by hundreds of people with different concepts," said McDonald. "I had always loved DailyCandy’s food entries, and I wanted to do something similar dedicated to this one area."
