The Dessert Truck is continuing its citywide tour to promote two new pomegranate-liquor treats outside “every media outlet in New York,” and today they moseyed on down to Varick Street, parking outside our office. Well, whether it’s selling out or not, we’re not above at least sampling a gimmick if it’s free: a truffle lollipop made with pomegranate liquor, and a similarly concocted macaroon macaron. The most popular treat will make it onto the truck’s regular menu for the month of November. It’s a lock for the lollipop: No macaroon macaron, no matter how fluffy, can compete with dark chocolate.

If you’re craving, Midtown Lunch reports that the truck will be serving more free samples to the general public today. Catch them at 40th Street between Sixth Avenue and Broadway from 4:05 to 4:25 p.m., or on 36th Street between Eighth and Ninth Avenues from 4:40 to 5 p.m.
