Jonathan Dixon, a former staff writer for Martha Stewart, has started a rather vivid blog about his fresh start as a student of the Culinary Institute of America. You gotta feel for the guy when at 6:15 a.m. he’s struggling to cut a fish with a gruesomely injured hand and one of his instructors asks, “What the hell are you doing?” Dixon’s honesty — “I don’t know” — doesn’t get him anywhere: “[The Chef’s] lips pursed and he looked like he might spit bile.
