Two can play at this trend, Marriott! The Times reports that the omnipresent hotel chain recently lured cocktail legend Dale DeGroff to create cocktails for their properties nationwide. DeGroff even convinced the chain to abandon fruit juices from the soda gun in favor of the freshly squeezed stuff, so now they can charge up to $16 for a drink. Hooray, profit margins!

Meanwhile, on the home front, it has come to our attention that Employees Only’s Milos Zica has created a trio of cocktails for Brooklyn’s Nu Hotel. The hotel opened as part of a condo development on Smith Street in July. Zica’s drinks include a “Nu Martini” and the “Kings County.” Really, aren’t all visitors to the city hoping for a taste of the Gowanus?
