‘Edible Manhattan’ Feast Now (Somewhat) Open to the Public

Wednesday night’s blowout celebrating the launch of Edible Manhattan (parts of which are now online) was expected to be an invite-only affair, but we’re told that 200 tickets will now be available for purchase at the check-in area at the corner of Fulton Street and South Street.

At just $10, the tickets will be harder to get hold of than sidewalk chamomile, so hit the South Street Seaport close to the 6 p.m. start time (the party goes till 10 p.m.) for a chance to hobnob with the magazine’s distinguished contributors and followers. Also! You’ll want to get dibs on free cheese from Murray’s, smoked fish and bagels from Russ & Daughters, donuts from the Doughnut Plant, pork butts from Heritage Foods U.S.A., Peconic Bay oysters, chocolates from Vere, wines from Wölffer Estate and Bedell Cellars, beer from Kelso of Brooklyn, and, of course, Manhattans! Neighboring eateries such as Nelson Blue and Heartland Brewery will also dole out samples to ticket-holders. Rest assured there’s little chance of a Brewfest-style rainout: The skies should be clear.
