Last weekend we were surprised to find Allen & Delancey up and running on a Saturday afternoon — as it turned out, the restaurant was previewing a brunch menu that will go into full effect this weekend. We’ve secured that for you exclusively, and as you can see from items like corn beef hash with hen eggs, it’s nothing short of a shot over the Freemans bow. Brunch cocktails are also in the works, but in the meantime, tonight marks the debut of A&D;’s new cocktail program, engineered by our own Alex Day of Death & Co. (A&D;, meet D&C.;) Each of Day’s $13 drinks come in two versions: Behind Door Number One is something “light and festive, with citrus and fruit meant to refresh the mind and whet the appetite,” while behind Door Number Two is something “best drank with thought, time, and good conversation.” A little confusing? A look at the menu and it’ll all make sweet blessed sense.
