‘Top Chef’ Season-Five Participants Outed?; Spike’s Burgers Big in D.C.

Spike.
Spike.

Eater San Francisco gathers the rumors about the upcoming season of Top Chef: Participants are said to include Absinthe’s Jamie Lauren; Danny Gagnon of New York; Jeff McInnis of Miami; CIA student Patrick Dunlea; Stefan Richer of Los Angeles; and Don Rickles’s private chef, Stacey Slichta. The show will tape until August 26. In the meantime, in the real, 100 percent–confirmed world of Top Chef, the Washington Post reports that the wait is 45 minutes long outside of Spike Mendelsohn’s D.C. burger joint, Good Stuff Eatery, which opened in early July. Bottom line: “Style was always Mendelsohn’s strong point, and there’s plenty on display at Good Stuff. More locations are in the works, but with Five Guys just a few miles away, this not-quite-top chef will need to increase consistency to keep the lines long.”

Update: We’ve now heard from Stacey Slichta that she will not be a contestant as Eater reported.
