Yesterday, we wondered whether TV viewers were bored by Ted Allen, but one person who would seem to dig him is Jamie Foxx, producer of MTV’s latest reality show, “From G’s to Gents.” Watch the trailer and, around the one-minute mark, you’ll see that the show’s host, Fonzworth Bentley, brings Allen in to teach the wannabe thugs how to sip wine properly. “It tastes like a marlet,” says one of them through gold fronts. “Actually you’re quite right,” Allen politely demures. “This is a merlot.” We find this strain of humor pretty damn tried (one exception: Donnell Rawlings as restaurant critic), but here’s hoping this was a two-way education and one of these guys passed Allen a dutchie.
