Momofuku Ko May Soon Do Lunch, Vegetarian Menu

Ko is going to start serving lunch, according to Eater, but if you were hoping it would be a cheaper, easier-to-penetrate version of dinner, think again. According to a diner who claims to have gotten the scoop, there will only be one lunch seating, and the 16-course meal will cost $150 — a full $50 more than dinner (unless, of course, the price of dinner goes up when lunch debuts). Perhaps even more intriguing is that an FAQ now on Momofuku Ko’s site doesn’t take the same “sucks to be you” tone when answering the question “Are there menu items for vegetarians?” The reservation system still warns, “We apologize, but the current menu at Momofuku Ko does not accommodate guests who do not eat meat, fish or dairy.” However, the FAQ assures, “We are working on a vegetarian menu and will let you know when it’s done.” Is this a kinder, gentler Chang?
