Heath Ledger’s bar, which, according to Down by the Hipster, had the working name Five Leaves, will be called BrightSide when it opens later this summer, reports Life and Style magazine. Says co-owner Jud Longell, “Heath was very, very into it. He drew the floor plans and thought of the name, BrightSide, because it’s on the bright side of McCarren Park.” When the venue opens, there will be a family table, per Ledger’s wishes, and a chessboard engraved into one of the tables — a nod to the actor’s love of the game.
