Reverends Protest Wine Bar and Union Square Cafe Restaurant

A couple of radical religiosos, Reverend Frank Morales, of the St. Marks Church, and the notorious Reverend Billy, of the Church of Stop Shopping, are protesting against two separate projects in the East Village area. “Page Six” says Morales will demonstrate in front of Bruce Willis’s Bowery Wine Co. to demonstrate against what his partner refers to as “right-wing Republicans [a reference to Bruce Willis] opening yuppie wine bars in our neighborhood.” Reverend Billy, meanwhile, got to the top of the Union Square pavilion (a feat not quite as impressive as climbing the Times building) and dropped a “NOT FOR SALE” banner before declaring, “This is where peace and justice were struggled for by hundreds of thousands of Americans over the last century and a half. This cannot be an upscale restaurant!”
