Dear Grub Street,
I’m writing because I’m assuming the stalls are open on Saturdays and Sundays currently, but I’ve seen no official notice. I want to head there this weekend with my parents while they are visiting, but I don’t want to trek all the way to Red Hook only to find that nothing is going on. If you could confirm that the stalls are now operating, as it seems you’ve reported on their happenings a bit, that would be much appreciated.
You’d better make some other plans with your parents. “We had to push the date (once again), as we are still waiting to clear some compliance issues with the Department of Health,” says vendor spokesman Cesar Fuentes. “But we expect to be officially open either in the last week of June or the first week of July.” Fuentes does remind us, though, that some of the vendors will be at a hip-hop festival in Coffey Park in Red Hook on Saturday and others at Brooklyn Flea on Sunday.
