The space that used to house the Liquor Store Bar — for ten years a dependable, unpretentious spot for martinis on West Broadway — has sat sadly vacant for a couple of years. The last owner, Michele Angerosi, footed a $250,000 renovation only to have his license revoked by the SLA because, among other reasons, he was within 200 feet of a mosque. Now our sister blog, the Cut, brings news that the space will become a boutique outlet of preppy clothier J.Crew. Neighbors may have complained about noise coming from the bar, but our ears will explode when we walk into this place and hear, “Ohhhhh look at this cute vest!”
