A First Look at HiFi and Niagara Owners’ New Bar, Bowery Electric

The owners of the Bowery Electric have finally come out of soft-opening mode. In a press release, partner Mike Stuto, also owner of HiFi, says, “Being located adjacent to Joey Ramone Place and the former CBGB location we feel a sense of responsibility, especially as so much of that era of New York rock is gone.… We are looking forward more than backward, but a true respect of history is a key part of looking forward correctly.” Whoa, easy, Barack, it’s just a bar! Although, yes, we’re glad the onetime owners of Coney Island High and Brownies still have a stake in the nabe. Here are some interior shots from last night’s official opening.
