Changes At The Sidecar

Over at the Metro’s food column, The Bite, we just found out about some going-ons over at the South Philadelphia Tap Room:

In other gastropub news, the South Philadelphia Taproom (1509 Mifflin St., 215-271-SPTR, www.southphiladelphia taproom.com) is days away from doubling in size. They’ve knocked out a wall and are just about set with a new dining room and kitchen. Hopefully this will mean the return of the sinfully delicious Newbold spuds (fried-to-order potato chips served with a spicy mayo, which are inexcusably off the menu). There’s some story about only having one fryer in the current kitchen. We hope the spuds will return with the new kitchen, but will make our way back regardless for the wild boar burrito.

Sounds good to us.
