Diner’s Agenda: Just Another Manic Monday

Diner’s Agenda adores alliteration.

Monday, August 20
Abe & Louie’s Steakhouse hosts a benefit for the MS Cure Fund tonight at 6:00. Depending on if you believe the email we received about the event or the event’s site, it is either called “Girls Night Out: Botox, Bling, and Beauty” or “Girls Night Out: Shopping and Sipping.” The former is much funnier. Anyways! Your $25 donation gets you hors d’oeuvres, a vodka cocktail, and who knows, maybe even Botox (note: we have no idea if that’s true). Tickets may be purchased online. [MS Cure Fund]
•In less ambiguous benefit news, Morton’s is hosting a fundraiser for the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk for Cancer Research at 6:30. For a donation of $26.20, you can feast on hors d’oeuvres, down cocktails, and participate in a raffle and a silent auction. Call (617) 266-5858 to reserve. [Morton’s]
•Sauvignon Blanc is one of the world’s greatest summer wines. Even though the weather isn’t feeling quite so summery today, a tasting still sounds lovely. Om is offering a four-course meal paired with a variety of Sauvignon Blancs (Sauvignons Blanc? Sauvignons Blancs? We wish we spoke French). Not a bad deal for $69! Dinner starts at 7:00 and you may save your spot by calling (617) 576-2800. [Om]

•Question: is “First Annual Farm-Fresh Funky Feeding Frenzy” a better name than “Girls Night Out: Botox, Bling, and Beauty?” We think so. We also think that said FAFFFFF sounds like a pretty awesome event. Here’s how it’s going down: Craigie Street Bistrot is hosting a five course extravaganza of locally-grown foods all night for $85. With courses like crispy confit of local suckling pig being offered, we think you’d be a little crazy to miss the fun. Call (617) 497-5511 to reserve. [Craigie Street Bistrot]
